Hello luxury… Hello Dubai

So the next stop in our Middle Eastern tour was the center of everything that is luxurious: Dubai. I have to be honest I was not that thrilled for this new destination mainly because it is well… a bit fake. And it truly is, but you have to see it with a new perspective. It is amazing what the United Arab Emirates have done in a little less than 20 years, and how they have successfully become the epicenter of all business in the Arab world.  Not to mention they will be hosting Expo 2020 where they hope to attract millions of visitors while showcasing the UAE.

So what better than to start of the post with the amazing view of Burj Khalifa the tallest building in the world at 828 meters (2,716.5 feet for my American friends). It is huge and breath taking and sort of resembles a giant needle.

And of course the view from atop, which makes you feel absolutely miniscule. In all Dubai is very much and architect’s or a designer’s heaven because that is exactly what it offers.

Plus the bonus of taking a picture with the arabian horse sculpted by one of Colombia’s most famous artists Fernando Botero.

Dubai is mostly about excess such as the BIGGEST mall, the BIGGEST building, the FASTEST cars and the most expensive clothes. So it should come as no surprise that they have a giant aquarium inside the Dubai Mall with sharks, rays, huge fish and more!

Additionally there is the Global Village, which I don’t particularly recommend because despite having great installments for each country, the merchandise inside is mostly made in china and each pavilion struggles to differ from each other.
